Hospital Services - Pharmacy
The innovative and progressive Pharmacy department at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital offers a wide variety of programs and services.
The Pharmacy operates a complete distribution system for drugs required in the hospital, and supports other regional facilities in their drug provision. A centralized intravenous admixture program exists along with home-based intravenous therapy, pain management, outpatient chemotherapy and hemodialysis. Service is also provided to the Geriatric Assessment and Rehab Unit located at Providence Place.
The Five Hills Health Region Pharmacy department operates an inpatient and outpatient anticoagulation clinic. In consultation with physicians, the Warfarin Management Program monitors bloodwork and makes warfarin dosage changes as needed. This includes situations when an interruption in anticoagulant therapy is required. The phone number for the Warfarin Management Program is 306-691-2626.
The Pharmacy department provides drug information services to patients and health professionals.
With a focus on providing exceptional care to all patients, the Pharmacy also plays a major role in the education of pharmacy and technician students.
